Angels for Change has been working closely with the FDA to communicate updates on the recently reported vincristine crisis. We are pleased to announce that both the FDA and Pfizer have worked together to provide supply and updates to patients, providers and the community regarding this critical drug shortage.
According to the FDA, “Drug shortages are an ongoing critical concern and addressing the vincristine shortage has been a top priority for FDA and our Drug Shortage staff. Our role has been to work closely with Pfizer and we have new information posted from Pfizer on our website today that the company is now shipping vincristine and will be distributing by the end of the month. Pfizer believes the manufacturing delay that occurred is resolved and we will continue to update our posting with any additional information. We are continuing to do everything possible to prevent additional shortages of critical drugs like vincristine by working with manufacturers and working to have additional supplies of these critical drugs.”
In addition, Pfizer has provided a letter of intent to ensure supply is met by late October with ongoing commitment for delivery through next year.
