Chief Change Maker, Laura Bray Awarded SGO 2023 Service Award
Tampa, FL [March 16, 2023] Angels for Change is excited to announce Chief Change Maker, Laura Bray as the recipient of The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) 2023-2024 Service Award! This accolade recognized Bray's dedication and contributions to the field of gynecologic oncology and her unwavering commitment to advancing patient care.
“When I receive phone calls and emails from patients and physicians desperate to get access to chemotherapy, I turn to Laura. With her help, we have been able to assist patients around the country. She has worked tirelessly, reaching out to manufacturers, distributors, and the FDA to find connections to source drugs. Her leadership, fierce determination, and absolute grit are helping patients fight for their lives and ensuring that no one is left behind.” – Dr. Alvarez Secord, MD, MHSc
The SGO Honors and Awards Committee was founded in 2011 to acknowledge the achievements made in gynecologic oncology and those who have contributed toward these advancements for women with gynecologic malignancies. The awards were given on March 16th at SGO’s Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer.
“I would like to thank the Society for Gynecology Oncology for this incredible honor. Partnering with you to support patients during the 2023 oncology drug shortage crisis has saved many lives. Partnerships, like these, with physicians, patients, and advocacy will build the supply chain of the future, ending this crisis for all. May this example serve as a gold standard to lead the way forward. Thank you again!” - Laura Bray
Thank you to The Society of Gynecologic Oncology for this recognition of our Founder, your partnership in ensuring access to all patients, and for your commitment to prevent and treat gynecologic cancers.
“She has helped countless patients and hospital systems during the chemotherapy drug shortage of 2023, including many patients with gynecologic cancers and the institutions of several SGO members. This is life-saving, life-changing work, and we are indebted to Ms. Bray for her efforts and partnership with the SGO and FWC.” – Dr. Nickles Fader
