Angels for Change Hosts First In-Person SummitONE in Dallas, Texas
Tampa, Florida- August 12, 2022- Angels for Change, whose mission is to end drug shortages through advocacy, awareness and a resilient supply chain, hosted their fourth and first in person SummitONE Friday July 29th in Dallas, Texas.
Angels for Change founded SummitONE as a forum for key decision makers throughout the healthcare supply chain to connect, problem solve and do the collaborative work that will be needed to end drug shortages. Laura Bray, Chief Change Maker at Angels for Change and Founder of SummitONE said “If we want ONE outcome, ending drug shortages, we must be ONE system of health working together. I’m extremely proud of the work we are doing on behalf of patients and hospital systems to end drug shortages. The power of SummitONE is that we can elevate that work to help more patients in dire need. The overwhelming support of supply chain members gives me so much hope for a future free of drug shortages.”
Industry leaders from Children’s Hospital Association (CHA); McKesson Corporation; Vizient Inc.; Phlow Corporation; The Mayo Clinic; United States Pharmacopeia (USP); and more shared what is possible when we work to end drug shortages, together.
“I think the collaboration that can come out of this forum [SummitONE] can change lives and change the U.S. healthcare system, and maybe even change the world. But it is going to take all of us if we’re going to achieve that” said Brian Tyler, CEO of McKesson Corporation at the introduction to SummitONE.
McKesson Corporation hosted SummitONE in their corporate convention space and Vizient hosted the welcome reception.

PHLOW hosted a high-powered panel of experts on the front lines of shaping policy and driving advocacy aimed to end drug shortages at the federal level.
Mark Spiecker, President at Staq Pharma and Terri Wilson, Director of Supply Chain at Children's Hospital Association (CHA) spoke on Building Supply in a Short Market.
McKinsey & Company lead group discussions on Building Resiliency, Together before the closing of SummitONE.
In addition to SummitONE, the first in person End Drug Shortages Alliance (EDSA) board meeting was held in person on July 27th, in Dallas, Texas. Angels for Change is a founding member and founder, Laura Bray, is a founding board member. The End Drug Shortages Alliance was founded to take strategic aim at one of health care’s more pressing and enduring issues, drug shortages that disrupt patient care.
Eric Tichy, Chair of Supply Chain at Mayo Clinic reported, “We have already had 102 organizations join the End Drug Shortages Alliance, many of which are in this room, which I find to be very impressive” in the EDSA update at SummitONE.
