Angels for Change 4th Annual Swim2End Shortages
Riverview, FL [April 28, 2024] - Angels for Change (A4C) hosted their fourth annual Swim2End (S2E) Shortages on Sunday, April 28th at the YMCA Camp Christina in Riverview, FL.
The S2E Shortages is A4C’s local community family-friendly swim fundraising event. Swimmers, Cheer Squad Members, and Supporters raised funds to help patients impacted by drug shortages and prevent future shortages from harming patients. S2E was Angels for Change’s original grassroots fundraising event. This event helped launch and grow the organization into the national non-profit it is today.
S2E Shortages 2024 was filled with energy, fun, and Change Makers of all ages gathering to generate drug shortage awareness. A4C is proud to have had 3 of our Youth Board members help lead the charge gathering 5 other Team Captains to recruit 43 young Change Makers. These 51 swimmers swam 1,232 laps totalling 17.5 miles to bring awareness to the shortage crisis. Through sponsorships and participant fundraising, S2E raised over $11,000 to support patients in need of life-saving treatments.
“Swim2End 2024 was an incredible event! We are grateful to all the volunteers who devoted their time and energy to our mission. Many of the volunteers were teenagers. It’s very exciting to see youth get involved to make a difference to save thousands of lives. Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers who joined us to end drug shortages!” said Lynn Henry, Volunteer Chair of Swim2End Shortages.
Thank you to all of the participants who dove in to make a difference in the lives of thousands. This event was made possible thanks to Pavilion Sponsor, DietrichKelso Orthodontics and T-shirt Sponsors: Cardinal Roofing, Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry, Senior Helpers of Lakeland, Spoor Bunch Franz Accounting Family, and West Tampa Door & Hardware.
